Tracker, Shipper, Plotter / Regina free time with Talia Renoake
« on: June 14, 2017, 06:45:04 PM »
At the current time and place some of the crew from the Goldhound are taking three days leave on Regina. With that I need some assistance as I am not used to writing without some degree of direction, nor am I happy with writing a one on one RP for the sake of merely keeping my character busy. So I'm looking for a basic plot to follow and at least two others to write with whose characters are not presently occupied. Cynadea has suggested that some of the crew from the Black Echo are free, so if you're up for it, I'd be appreciative.

Thank you.

Talia was first to the exit door with her hand going straight to the open control, letting that luxurious real air enter. She stood there letting it all wash over her before taking that first step onto terra firma; her hand though immediately reaching into a pocket for her sunglasses, after all the weeks being aboard ship the simple daylight of it all was hard to adjust to.

"That sounds like a reasonable plan, although lets make it four hours as I hate to rush a meal." Possibly for the first time any of the crew had seen, Talia's lips parted in something resembling a smile. She looked back at Emma with an expression that suited her words. "I'm sorry Emma, that is the one thing I forgot to look up on the tourist brochure but I am quite certain they have chartered guest houses here as they do on most worlds; that or if you have the coin one of your more upper class 'otels. Bert-" Talia tapped her shoulder indicating her Commlink, "-don't waste too much time, as I said if you need spare parts at all, call me. Or if its software related, call me." She raised her hand in farewell then stepped down onto real earth.

"True words Rebecca, my previous employment taught me only too well just how isolated we can become in life even if we have a dozen or more people around us at the time. We become so focused in what we do that all to often we end up living that solitary way of life when the work is done and dusted; that is how I became what I am today and I don't think that it's going to change for me in the near future unless some dramatic turn of events changes my nature." Of course it was only natural that as a cyber spook Talia had on occasion during the war to waffle on endlessly, especially when relaying twenty orders from Battalion HQ to the field. Some of those days she would end up being unable to speak by the time her shift was completed.

With Emma's little observation Talia's 'Miss Prim' persona took over momentarily with a raised brow to which she added a "I think we can be fortunate enough in the knowledge Jacobs that we don't have a Shepherd with us don't you?" Although she had to admit after the weeks they'd spent in the 'verse, it was a pretty sight to see.

"If you can find me in the next day or so Bert, I'll let you know what I come up with. Other than that, I'll need a verbal report on that thruster as well as any parts you may need." Time to stand so at last she could unwind for three days. Talia unbuckled herself, stretched as if she'd been sleeping for a month, even with a quick yawn. "Hopefully we'll all bump into one another over the next three days, it'd be a shame to waste the time  we have without having at least one decent meal together. Other than that, take care and for the sake of both my sanity and Jack's, keep out of trouble." One last gaze especially directed at Emma.

Talia let a tiny chuckle slip from her throat as the conversation drifted around shopping in general to food then Bert's weed then back to the original purpose of their little excursion; to find some relaxation. "As you know all too well Rebecca I'm not the most social crew member on the ship. Even Bert will tell you I find my isolation in the garden far more suited to my personality than being surrounded by people. Not that conflicts with me in doing my job, far from it. I can be more valuable as an officer and leader if I can be seen as somewhat separate from the social order." Perhaps in saying that Talia knew she had tripped over her own tongue to the point of being a tad offensive. "No, that didn't come out the way I intended it." A moment of face palming before she sorted herself out. "What I am trying to say is that while I love having the friendships I've made in life and I value them deeply, when I am focused on something it becomes a quest that I am better off pursuing on my own. Quite often Rebecca these quests of mine can be very boring to anyone of a sane mind." Her eyes darted over to Bert just to see if he was taking notice since they had a few minor clashes over the topic of a certain crop.

She let that go for just a moment or two simply so she could take in the view of Regina; it was impressive. "It is Mei Mei isn't it?" She echoed Emma's sentiments before switching back to Bert. "I've read over two dozen medical write ups on the subject, there are in fact twenty seven separate genus's that cover much the same end effect I'm looking for Bert; but only four of those are suitable for the growing conditions we have on the ship, which I narrowed down hopefully to one. So we shall see. Other than that, I want to see if I can find a decent aquaponics set up we can install so we might have a some diversity in our protein intake. There is a species of freshwater shrimp I've heard about that thrives in confined spaces such as the 'Hound." It was a theory at best, not yet proven as far as she was aware. "Rebecca some people were born to do certain things I think, I have this unnerving feeling that I was born under a cabbage, ergo, I have a natural green thumb. I look at some of you, telling myself there is no way I could do the things that you do without effort." She could shoot someone in defence of herself or her crew. Yet there was no way Talia was able to attack someone unprovoked, or do the job of a sniper; that was a complete anathema to her.

"A rather tall ten if my guess is correct Emma. She and I are the same height, though Jack has a kilo or two on me, a little fuller in the bosom than I so I guess if you wanted to have a picture in your mind the two of us are not that dissimilar." Quite a frank but honest assessment in Talia's mind, which of course had her curious as to why the girl was asking such a question at this point. She could ask which would be the natural thing to do from her point of view as XO, though for the moment she could see any valid reason why. Unless of course Emma had some bizarre reason for posing the question in the first place. For now though she stuck it in the 'none of my business category' and filed it away for later thought.

With the conversation delving all the more deeper into exactly what they would be doing once on the surface for the next three days, Talia was giving that even more thought herself, with those thoughts stretching into the future. "I know this is going to sound terribly boring to you all, but there is one thing I am yearning to do and that is to try and find new varieties of seedlings for the garden. Hopefully I can source a few different vegetables I can grow so we can in the months to come have something a little less expected on our plates. As they old adage goes, variety is the spice of life. Which reminds me-" her eyes bunched up a little as she looked across to Bert. "- there is another strain of your hemp Bert I'd like you to help me find, it can be used to relieve pain in serious injuries and I am quite sure Roger would definitely be interested in it. Such a pity he's not with us on this trip." The particular genus of hemp she was after, if compounded correctly was far more effective than the traditional base white bark that had been used for centuries as a natural based anti-inflammatory.

The look Talia shot to Bert and Emma would have been much akin to cutting through steel with an oxy torch, there was absolutely no way she'd have anyone lighting up a weed, joint or even a stogie within the confines of the shuttle. Her relief when Rebecca forestalled that possibility was more than visible, her face relaxing back to its normal semi serious mode.

They were getting closer, the chatter reflected that to, with herself wondering in those idle moments between the talk what Jack and the others of the crew might be doing right now. She was quite surprised really that only the four of them had chosen to go down to Regina at this point, although she suspected they would no doubt see the other crew members soon enough. "My head is thinking of books, while my stomach is thinking of food. I think I know which one will win." Idle words, of course the head would prevail.

All Talia could think of was to settle back so she could catch those elusive few winks she needed in that wondrous space of just twenty minutes. Correction, seventeen minutes now. It was impossible for her to do so as she found the energy bars she had consumed a little earlier did nothing but give her a sugar fix leaving her feeling hungrier than ever. Added to that was the constant nagging in her mind that she had forgotten something. Turning off a pump in the gardens perhaps or even worse, not watering Bert's weed as she had promised to do. She knew though deep down she hadn't missed a thing, it was nothing less than her nature than to worry about this or that. So it was random conversation for the next little while.

"Speaking of the sea, I recall a certain Shepherd who visited my battalion on a regular basis for our 'spiritual' needs, although he rarely gave a sermon. He was more concerned with playing chess every opportunity he could against any opponent who was weaker than he in the game. Generally that was the company clerk." Her thoughts ambled back to the rare quiet times they had back then. "His other passion was telling stories about Earth back in the twenty first century, he had books and videos to back his tales. One in particular I think he was passionate about was a pastime they called surfing, whereby people would ride on some kind of shaped board over and down the waves. It did look quite thrilling but I failed to see the constructive purpose of it." Then her eyes darted back to Emma when she pulled out the lighter, bringing a raised eyebrow to show her concern.

With one eye partially open, Talia's vision went straight to Emma's back. She was neither dear nor stupid much less that out of it she wasn't aware of what was going on around her. "Phht!" She said slipping out of her seat easily to walk the few steps over to the front of the cockpit. "I don't need babysitting or watching thank you Emma. It would pay though for you to do some watching of your own while you're here with Rebecca. Who knows you might learn something other than how to field strip a rifle in ten seconds."

She peered into view before her, watching the ever growing orb of Regina with her mind fixed on the things she wanted to do there. "How long Bec?"

One could certainly imagine that you'd be more than happy spending a great deal of your life with these people, that was certainly the random thoughts passing through Talia's mind. Not an ounce of the pretense that she had experienced with her family's circle of friends nor indeed the elitist attitudes of the officer Corps. Despite her upbringing Talia despised anything that hinted of snobbery, that 'I'm better than you' stance that so many took in those societies, thinking that even talking to the common folk was beneath them.

"It's not uncommon to see a very attractive woman firmly attached to a man who some would consider bordering on the ugly side, or at best not overly attractive. Beards or not Bert, what any decent woman looks for in a man is his heart; that to me is what makes a man worthy of my attention." She had two relationships in her life, the first a handsome man full of himself; the second a beastly looking man who made her heart sing. If it were not for his untimely death in the war, she probably would have married him. "I think I'll take the time to have a snooze." She'd been up before anyone else, with only a few hours sleep. Best to get what you can while you can.

If she had still been in her teens Talia would certainly be giggling by now, Bert had that capacity to bring out that repressed girl in her, that urgent need to be herself that life of the privileged had managed to keep hidden for the best part of her life. Thinking back as she sat there waiting for the inevitable drop into space, Talia realised that being among the crew of the Goldhound was the best thing that could ever have happened for her. Now she had to play catch up. No servants to do her bidding, hell even as she was plunged into the life of an officer it was still much the same. Here though she had to stand on her own two feet, do things for herself that any normal civilised human should be doing. "I would have gladly swapped parents with you any day Rebecca. I think my life was robbed of the best experiences everyone else takes for granted."

She settled back for the ride down looking forward to seeing a new world, this would be her fourth, all of them better than the last. But she did have something for Bert. "Took my mother thirty minutes to untangle my hair from father's beard once." She was five at the time and remembered it as if it were yesterday, an over zealous father's affections on her birthday.

Another bar went down, or at least it tasted partially like one. It was off, the slight taste of mould lingering on her tongue. Gracefully though she said nothing, merely praying it wouldn't come back to bite her. "What type of cultural cuisine do they follow down there I wonder?" She mused aloud. "A nice hot curry certainly would go down a treat and before any of you say anything, spicy food goes hand in hand with a hot day by the sea; am I not correct Emma?" She knew that although the younger woman's life wasn't the best, she did come from a sea faring community and that the Earthly Asian cultures had remained strong on that world.

Jokingly Talia wiped the top of the command console with her finger, holding it up to the light. "Shiny." She said using a popular phrase of the day. Then with a reasonable version of a smile, her version at least she replied to Rebecca's vision of the three days leave. "I envy you in many ways you know. I'd love to bask in the sun for a while, get a little color on my skin then soak in the clean waters of the sea. The last I can manage if I find one of those full body suits that were frequently seen a few years ago; but the sun is my enemy. Sometimes I feel like I'm one of those fabled Vampires in the stories from Earth of centuries ago, shunning the sun because of a fear of burning up." Her head looked around a little taking in all that the pilot had done in a short while, she was impressed. "Seriously, you did well Rebecca, I'd pay to have someone do that for me you know."

Next on the agenda was her growling stomach, it didn't take any persuasion to head over to the cupboard containing the snack fest. "Would you like one?" She asked, snagging two for herself, stuffing those in her pocket. A head snap occurred then when Bert's voice alerted her to his presence. She knew about the clean up of course as they shared the common space of the gardens more often than other areas of the ship. "You look fresher at least Bert and no, as I was about to tell Rebecca I'll be doing some shopping, then seeing if I can locate an old book I've been after for ages. I hear they have a wonderful market down in the center of Regina."

The second interruption was Emma, expected but later than Talia thought she'd show up. "Well Mei Mei, you did scrub up rather well didn't you?" The last she saw Emma, she had her rear up and nose down field stripping those weapons recovered, several times over as if she was testing herself to see how fast she could do it. Her face at that time wore several smudges of grease.

<From Cabin to Shuttle @Rebecca Walsh @Bert Manfeld @Emma Jacobs >

A single carry bag was all Talia needed, a largish one by the standard of the day yet it had the capacity to provide her with every need she could think of for a three day vacation, a long awaited one. So before making her way to the shuttle, she double checked everything for herself, the ship and the crew, ensuring nothing was wanting for any of them. There were of course the usual papers to be signed that fell to her, those Chloe didn't take care of personally, then last minute checks on the Cortex and she was done. As she made her way through the accommodation area she did give Emma a reminder to get her act together, the girl telling her earlier her intentions to travel to Regina on the first shuttle. A mumbled reply through the closed door told Talia she'd be not far behind.

"Wake up sleepy, your favorite loud mouth is on the way." Talia nudged Rebecca on the shoulder as she climbed into the cockpit before taking one of the spare seats. "Just how long have you been waiting here anyway? I feel like I've missed breakfast and my last six meals you know that?" The grumbling stomach gave clear evidence of the fact that she hadn't indeed eaten since the previous day's lunch. A think Talia often did, fasting she called it.

<Mess hall. Early morning, just before entering the Eir Skyplex, @Chloe Saint-Jacques>

A thought occurred to Talia for her to throw her arms around the captain in gratitude not so much for the promotion but the faith that Chloe had in her; then a little voice in her head told her explicitly 'don't push your luck woman'. So instead her rough hand reached out for that ubiquitous custom that was as old as time itself. For a long moment words that she knew she could or wanted to say hung on her lips, not overly sure if whatever she said was going to be appropriate. In the end she just went for it, a little out of character, but then there were times when it was accepted for one to do just that.

"I'm still pinching myself you know. While I guess it might have been inevitable at some point given Nate's character, I never considered something like this for myself. So you could say that the gratitude is equally felt on my behalf Chloe. As for the cabin, did fumigation get included in the clean out?" A lame attempt at humor, which wasn't bad considering Talia wasn't regarded as an overly humorous type of person, rather the opposite, many thought she was quite dour. "At least now the weight is shared." That bit she had to say, then the dark head swiveled around to Emma. "Thank you Mei Mei, I will though issue my first order to you. Make sure the pantry is restocked with strawberries by the time we leave the Skyplex." No she didn't miss much either.

<Mess Hall> @Chloe Saint-Jacques

Well that certainly caught Talia completely unawares. So much so she found herself practically biting her tongue to no small degree, a physical clamping down of teeth as if she had been shocked or at worst goosed by someone from behind. Her large hazel brown eyes were as wide as headlights on an Alliance Treasury train; making her eyebrows arch to alarming degrees.

Before she could even get an answer out, her mind began delving into the near and far past of her life, going as far back to those days as a child when she spent time with her father’s medical practice pretending to be something she wasn’t. That often involved her playing games with imaginary friends, games that took her to far away worlds commanding a ship very much like the one she helped steer to good fortune now. Or at least that was the plan. Then coming forward to the wars, those terrible wars that took such a toll on her state of mind, she found herself assessing her own sanity more than once. Yet she was able to come through all shiny as people would say, with little more than a slight nervous tick when she found herself being overwhelmed. That tick was manifested by her right index finger constantly bending and straightening; something she was doing right now until she made herself stop.

Looking back into the eyes of the Captain, she saw in them someone she had been able to confide in more often than she could recall. Someone she could lean on when the going got tough personally and professionally and vise versa. Talia had been there for Chloe in her moments of darkness as well. So in essence, the team building necessary was already built; the promotion to the Hound’s XO seemed by all accounts the next logical step. The point was did Talia want to go to that next step. It took her all of five seconds to decide. “Sometimes Chloe, there are things that are thrown at us when we are least prepared. What happened to Nate wasn’t unexpected I guess you could say; I was partially aware of it, so in hindsight I do feel somewhat responsible for not alerting you earlier.” Not the most elegant way to start off, but there you have it. “I can say only one thing. The pride in my heart I feel right now with this promotion will only be exceeded by my devotion to the position. Captain I whole heartedly accept.” Finally the day gave her something to smile about.

<<Talia's cabin to Mess Hall>>

Finishing up a few details with her finely written hand in her journal, Talia looked at it keenly before closing the leather bound tome. It was almost two inches thick, a relic of the past yet one she cherished dearly; others may have preferred the simplicity of tapping out a few keystrokes but not her. Her world was history, she longed for those kind of days she so often absorbed herself in within the pages of the scores of books she kept, some almost six hundred years old, their value more than their weight in gold.

As she placed the volume on the rack at the back of her desk, the com buzzed followed by Chloe's voice. She replied as she stood, "I'm on my way Chloe. My last entry for the month updated." The captain was the only other person on the ship allowed even within an inch of that journal, the only person Talia trusted with it.

Taking a slightly longer route through her beloved gardens, Talia breathed in deeply the heady aroma of the newly blossoming herbs she had planted several weeks ago, there was sweet basil, parsley, coriander, sage, thyme and her favorite rosemary. That last one she plucked a sprig to give to Chloe when she saw her, knowing the Captain's deep interest in everything the gardens produced. Several minutes later Talia stepped through to the mess, a relaxed expression on her face.

"I have all the moments you need now, my work for the day is done. Emma." She added as she passed the other by. "I hope this is something cheerful, after the last few days I could do with some." Not that it was all that bad, they did manage to dodge several bullets, Talia simply needed a respite from any possible gloom. She took a seat nearer to Chloe, leaning on the table with her elbows. She may have looked out of place on the hound, Talia being almost the only one who wore any semblance of a uniform, albeit a much altered version of what she wore when she was serving.

Em's going beach. She was raised near the sea so she would be in her element. I wonder if they still have surfing in this era  ::)

Why did we not see that coming?  :fp

Definitely. :)

Time wise, I think Chloe would do it just before letting everyone loose for the R&R, so that Talia can celebrate properly and all that :)

Where would be the best place to start a thread for that Cyn? You could of course throw one up for me to find, that would be easier. Perhaps have Jack call Talia up to her cabin.

I'd like to do a very short (possibly as few as two or three posts from each of us) where Talia receives her promotion if that suits.

Making sure before answering Talia double checked as much as she could visually through the gardens to ensure they were indeed alone. Then she checked again one more time to satisfy herself of the first check. She had a reputation of being highly suspicious of anything even remotely connected to the Feds. "We are and yes you do. I have to say this here and now Emalie, your actions of the last twenty four hours had placed this ship and its crew in danger, something neither I, nor Jack will tolerate in the future. Am I clear on that?" While Talia was a middling rank officer of the ship, her job as primary encryption technician afforded her a quasi security role, which she took to the limits of extreme diligence.

So what now, where they truly ready to leave? She'd soon find out. Tapping her coms she called Jack up. "Captain, its Talia. I've released Emma, shall we proceed to command? Although I might add the girl needs a bath and change of clothes badly." She wrinkled her nose at the odor coming from the younger woman.

Making sure they had gone, Talia slipped quietly to the rear door to watch the Feds leave with poor Nat in hand. She felt sorry for the man and hoped that somehow he could escape from whatever he was supposed to have done. Which she would certainly find out once she had again hacked into the Fed's system, maybe she could do something for him.

Running back to where she left, Talia dug her hands into the warm compost again to fiddle with the latch, breaking a nail in the process. Not one for cursing all that much, she did feel a few choice words coming on, though they never left her mouth.

The door opened quietly after that, her dark head peering in. "You can come out now Mei Mei."

The dark haired woman remained standing, hands behind her back as far away from the fertilizer bins as possible so as to not draw any unwanted attention to that particular part of her domain. She looked the perfect picture of a well disciplined military officer, possibly too much so, a fact that dawned on Talia as she saw two other agents approaching her. For a brief moment Talia stiffened, not because she knew the men, which she didn't, it was merely because she had a distinct distaste for the Feds after the way some prisoners were treated after the war.

As the smaller of the two approached she could see him looking at his PAD, obviously checking on the next crew member on Jack's roster, which of course would be Talia herself. "Ah, Lieutenant Renoake a pleasure to see you. I see you have found useful employment for your 'talents'." His tone was mildly sarcastic, any wonder as his own department had offered her a position not too long ago.

"You know me?" She said curiously, his manner had made her feel even more insecure. Behind her back, fingers were nervously interlacing with one another.

"No, not personally dear but we do know all about you. Never fear though, you're clean, perhaps a little too clean but then you do have 'that' way about you don't you?" He glanced around the gardens with a discerning eye, all the while she was trying not to focus on any one part of it herself. "Lovely, simply lovely. I see your father invested well in you in this area." He then turned to companion. "Shall we move on?"

With that Talia heaved a deep sigh of relief. So far so good, although the trickle of sweat running down her spine said otherwise. Her brown eyes were looking now directly at the ceiling, the words in them were 'Dodged that bullet'.

For many moments while she waited Talia was lost in her thoughts, dreams really, day dreams of those when things were far more pleasant with the only thing she ever had to worry about was managing her parents crops, making sure that the olives and grapes got to the processors on time. If only that were her only concern now. Today it was playing hide and seek with the Feds, not a welcoming thought in her mind.

Her head snapped up sharply when Jack spoke to her, not out of surprise, more simply that she was like that, able to multi-task even when her thoughts were elsewhere. "Don't think about it Jack, its your ship and you're allowed to take your own sweet time as you please. I could have collected some veges for dinner while I waited, I didn't because I fell into a frump." Blunt, that was Talia, incapable of hiding anything so now she had to hide a person. What a fix. "As for Bert's stash, see what you can find as its right out in the open." She wouldn't though let the Captain play forty questions, so Talia merely nodded in the direction of the thick tomato vines, the leaves were almost identical to those of Cannabis sativa.

All she had to do was wait, not something that set all that well with her. Talia was used to not only in her own life, even with the life she led during the war as a encryption officer. Get it done and get it done now. Twiddling her thumbs wasn't in her repertoire. For a while she paced up and down staring at that open hatch each time she passed it, thinking all the while what in hell's name brought this calamity upon the 'Hound. One word, Emalie. Not that she could lay the blame at the girl's feet entirely, she was after all simply pursuing her profession whatever that was at the time.

Swallowing hard, Talia tried to justify Jack having Jacobs as part of the crew. Though she didn't know the background of the woman, or girl however you wished to put it. She had read everything she needed to know about her on the Cortex to make sure that her Captain was aware that Emma could be a recipe for unpleasantness at some point down the line.

Some time later the former Brown Coat officer managed to weave her way through the garden section, much of it in full growth thanks to her rather well rounded skills. Fruits and vegetables were a plenty, flowers bloomed giving off a heady aroma that filled the entire area except for one; that little corner of stink that was her composting and fertilizer bins. Often when Talia worked in this area she wore a cloth over her face doused in a mild perfume of her own making, another skill she had acquired since joining the Goldhound and one that brought a little currency in for Jack when they found a market in the appropriate financially affluent sector.

At the very back of this corner stood one larger bin, one and half meters tall, three meters wide and two meters deep. Though the actual fertilizer that filled it, was only a meter deep. Along the front top edge, inside the smelly substance was a latch, fiddly to operate if you stumbled upon it. But who would stick their hands in that?

With black latex gloves on, Talia did just that, then stood back as the false front on the bin lifted on air operated slim cylinders. She peered in, flicking a small switch on just inside which turned on some dim lighting. At the very back of the hidey hole were three vents to circulate air; just the place for someone to hide or be hidden.

When done she tapped her communicator again. "Jack, Talia here. We're all set in the gardens."

"A ruttin mess indeed Jack!" Talia wasn't easily bothered by such things, why should she be? Her life, her background had more or less trained her to deal with almost any adversity. But not the Feds with their nosey intruding ways- she simply couldn't stand them for that, which was why she had cut ties with her family as both parents were deeply into the Federation pockets and then some.

"Jack, I'll meet you and whoever is carting Emalie along in the Gardens, I'll need to unlock the bin doors before you get there." The 'secret' compartment under the fertiliser bins had a latch buried in the muck inside the bin itself, even for Talia it was a fiddle to both find it then unlock the thing.

Stepping away from her console she gazed outward at the stars for just a moment, drinking in the beautiful vista. Two seconds after than she was hotfooting it for her own 'other' domain.

Quite simply this one little foray into the dark world of weapons purchases could end badly not only for the girl, but for the Goldhound and the crew as well. Not something that Talia thought worth contemplating. While Emma could be hidden, even her presence explained innocently, the weapons were another issue if they were not bona fide surplus goods free of title. "Now that had to hurt." She exclaimed in surprise on hearing Chloe's explanation of exactly what happened, no woman would expect to have a happy day, or even a man for that matter, after surviving that. The mere mention of the weapon told Talia it wasn't premeditated, which meant McKenna must have panicked which in turn meant something was stinking in New Hope surrounding the whole deal.

"I'm going to do some digging Chloe, how much time do I have?" Talia was the foremost scrounger on the Cortex, if it was there she would find it. "I might mention to that if the Feds are looking for someone they will bring heat sensing gear. There is a small alcove behind my fertilizer bins, they won't even go near that. The heat and smell will mask her presence nicely. As for the weapons themselves there is a nest of small asteroids on our way in, dump them there, we can always go back for them later." No sense in dumping if the goods turn out to be worth keeping.
